porcelain bloom blue vaseflower painting

Mixed media on stretched canvas · 6" × 6" · Original Creamy white blossoms spill from a hand-painted porcelain-style vase. Porcelain Bloom is built from texture paste and acrylic, with every petal shaped by hand into soft, ruffled layers, and slender chocolate-brown branches curling between sage-green leaves. The vase is the centerpiece. It rounds out from the canvas as a dimensional form, painted in deep cobalt panels with delicate coral tulips, tiny white flowers, and silver-leaf outlines, like antique blue-and-white ceramics. A few fallen petals rest on the pale blue tabletop, and the soft peach and aqua background gives the whole scene a calm, sunlit feel. At 6x6 inches, it's a small treasure that sits easily on a shelf, mantel, or desk, or joins a gallery wall. Because the paint and vase rise off the surface, it shifts with the light and looks different from every angle. It also makes a lovely gift for flower lovers and anyone who likes a classic blue-and-white look.
